Cruise to Cozumel

Lonnie and Mary took a Royal Caribbean cruise with Steve and Denise Snackenberg of TN from January 29 to February. Weather did not cooperate but all had a a great time anyway.
There was lots to do onboard. They had nightly shows in the Theater, bingo and the casino every day for Mary and Denise, great shopping, fine food in the Great Gatsby dining room and the buffet. The group even got into the Quest (adult game), Battle of the Sexes, and Mary entered the Sudoku contest.

The highlight was the port of Cozumel. We had to take a ferry over to the mainland for the tour to the Tulum Mayan ruins. It was very choppy and many, many ended up losing their breakfast. Our guide, Pablo, was every knowledgeable and gave a great tour of the ruins.

Afterward our group went to a private beach down the road and had lunch there. It was a little unnverving to see a guard with an automatic weapon at the gate to this resort. The beach was beautiful but the high winds kept us from enjoying it too much. We did walk the beach and get our feet wet.

We hope to try next winter for another cruise.

It's been awhile since we have last posted. Lots of things always going on in the campground. Monday and Friday nights are bingo for Mary. Tuesday is Bid Euchre for Lonnie. Wednesday is regular Euchre for Lonnie and Mary. Thursday night Lonnie has a Texas Hold'em game and plays Bocci Ball on Wednesday mornings. The campground usually has a social event every Saturday night. Tonight is the Valentine's Day dance and next Saturday is another potluck.

The biggest change is that now we will have a place in FL. We are buying a park model in the Old Mill Stream campground. It is very nice and the couple who are moving back to MN are in their 80's and decided to hang it up after coming here for over 20 years. We will be what they refer to as a 6 and 6, meaning we can stay here any 6 months and be home in IL for the other 6 months.
